Bike and Brews Tour Itinerary

3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

The gathering point is The Portland Encyclepedia (located at 6 Commercial St) where we will meet our guide and check out our bikes. After a brief safety talk, it is time to saddle up and pedal our way as a group towards the first brewery.

Our route features biking mostly on mixed-use paths where no vehicles are allowed. There are ample scenic views of Casco Bay and its many islands. Along the way, we will make a few stops to learn about Portland’s rich history, from the Rum Riots to Prohibition.

After pedaling our way to each of our stops, together, we will head back to the starting point with a better understanding of Portland’s thirst for outstanding craft beer and other alcohol.

We took the Bikes and Brews tour during a port stop on a cruise ship. We booked directly from Summer Feet. This tour was the best excursion we had taken during our entire vacation. We are in our 60’s and my wife was uncomfortable with riding in traffic and climbing hills but this ride was 90% bike trails with only one climb to speak of. We made 3 brewery stops that offered a wide variety of different beers and had another couple on the tour with us, who we really enjoyed. Rick, our guide, was a blast and took very good care of us.
