Our high quality Class 1 e-bikes with Bosch mid-drive motors provide quiet, responsive assistance that helps you handle hills with ease, keep pace with the group effortlessly, and arrive at every stop feeling great. Whether you're a confident cyclist looking for extra range or someone returning to riding after a few years away, an e-bike lets you focus on Maine — not your legs.

E-bike upgrades are available on every Summer Feet tour, from our Portland day trips to our weeklong coastal cycling vacations.

E-bikes are a great fit if you:

- Haven't ridden in a while and want extra confidence on the road

- Are joining a group where fitness levels differ

- Want to cover more ground without arriving exhausted

- Have a knee, hip, or joint condition that makes unassisted cycling uncomfortable

- Simply want to enjoy the scenery without worrying about effort

E-bike riders must be at least 16 years old. Younger riders ages 12 and up are welcome on our tours on standard bikes.

Our guides are experienced with mixed groups — some on standard bikes, some on e-bikes — and the tours are designed so everyone rides together comfortably.

“My two daughters and I did the Pedal-the-Coast self-guided 7-day tour in Maine June 2025. It was completely wonderful. Bikes were in excellent condition. The Ride-with-GPS instructions were spot-on, and each day's rides were well-described in the guide. The lodging accommodations were first rate. Needless to say, the Maine cost was gorgeous, and Acadia Park was spectacular. The SummerFeet staff were terrific at all stages of our tour, from the pre-tour preparations to the last day airport drop off. We've been on several self-guided tours before, and this was the best.

Our Summer Feet cycle along the Maine coast was glorious. In early September, we had perfect weather. We cycled along breathtaking views.
