Norman Patry is the founder of Summer Feet Cycling and Walking. Twenty-five years ago, he quit his job in the investment industry, bought his first adult bicycle, and rode it across the country. A Maine native, he loves sharing the beauty of the state with our guests. Norman is an avid traveler and has cycled in over twenty countries. Norman is dedicated to helping guests discover the beauty of Maine and the world, one pedal stroke at a time.
Chuck has lived in the Portland area on and off for 45 years. He is a semi-retired higher education administrator who specialized in student housing and student activities. He has served as a high school and youth boys lacrosse official for 18 years. Chuck has two adult sons and one lovely and terrific wife who was his high school sweetheart! When not cycling, Chuck is an avid downhill skier and a gym rat who kayaks regularly and hasn't met a cookie he doesn't like!
Dan's life changed after participating in two Summer Feet Pedal the Coast cycling trips. After the second tour, Dan told his wife that they needed to move to Maine. In 2020, they moved from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine. Dan now spend hours a day cycling and walking his Portuguese Water Dog, Ziggy. They love Maine and think their life reset has been perfect.
Edna’s love for Portland, its history, social scene and riding bikes is why she became a bike guide at Summer Feet. She wanted to share her excitement for Portland and Maine with others! Having amazing co-workers with the same passions is just an added bonus! Edna has lived in Maine for 8 years! The ocean, the mountains and the people are what drew her in. In her down time, Edna likes to mountain bike, bike tour, surf, ski and travel. She also love to read a good history book, especially if it’s about Maine's history.
Kim's passion for exploration and cycling finds an outlet in her work organizing coastal Maine bicycle tours, where her attention to detail and talent for adding special touches create exceptional guest experiences. In her free time, she volunteers with local nonprofits, finding purpose in serving the island and coastal communities she cherishes.
Lauren is a born and raised Mainer whose favorite place in the world is the grassy hill overlooking Casco Bay at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. She would prefer to be rolling around in the dirt rather than be stuck inside on any given day and adores most outdoor activities, especially kayaking, backpacking, swimming, and of course, biking. Lauren is a current graduate school student working towards a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and hopes to practice in an outdoor setting.
MacKenzie is a tour guide and bike mechanic at Summer Feet Cycling! She grew up cycling on the Eastern Trail in Scarborough, Maine! One of her favorite things to do is meet people from all over the world and show them the beautiful state of Maine by bicycle. When MacKenzie is not guiding, she makes jewelry for her business, MacKenzie Rose Designs! She also love to travel abroad during the winter season - usually to someplace warm!
Madawaska, a.k.a The Mad Man, is the chief cuteness officer of Summer Feet Cycling. His duties include greeting customers, chasing balls, taking naps, and begging for treats.
Molly is an avid adventure enthusiast. She was born in the south, but has lived in California, NYC, and now Maine. Before Summerfeet, she worked at a Mountain Bike Getaway along the Pinhoti Trail in North Georgia. Whether it is riding a road bike in a triathlon, or a fat bike through the snow, Molly enjoy bikes and terrains of all kind and loves getting to show people around Portland on two wheels!
Rick is a semi-retired engineer that has been cycling his entire life. He is originally from Kansas City, but has lived in Maine for almost 30 years. He loves introducing folks to the many things Portland and Maine have to offer, while getting some fresh air and exercise at the same time. Rick is also an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoys travel, games, live music, and most outdoor activities. He and his wife have two adult daughters - both of whom have also been Summer Feet guides.
Scott grew up in Ohio and has lived in southern Maine for 35 years while raising twin daughters. He completed the Appalachian Trail in 1984 and fell in love with bicycle touring on the Transamerica Route (Oregon to Virginia). Retiring from the non-profit sector two years ago, Scott has combined his love of travel and biking for the goal of cycling the circumference of the lower 48! As a Summer Feet Guide, Scott combines his love of the outdoors with storytelling, to connect with Maine visitors and proudly showcase the spectacular scenery from the seat of a bike.
