Kennebunkport Cycling Tour

History buffs, maritime enthusiasts, and scenic cyclists, our half-day bike tour is designed just for you. Explore The Kennebunks – Kennebunkport, Kennebunk, Arundel, and Cape Porpoise – towns with a deep maritime legacy. Here, you’ll discover stories of sea captains and the area’s prolific shipbuilding era, which saw up to 100 ships launched yearly. Learn about generations of fishermen who have thrived on the area’s rich marine bounty. Today, these towns blend the old with the new. The sea captains’ grand homes are now cozy bed and breakfasts, and the tradition of boat building lives on, with a school just four miles away and locals continuing as lobstermen and fishermen. Join us to dive into the rich, lively coastal culture of Maine.

Kennebunkport Cycling Tour Itinerary

Daily Tour

Our tour begins in downtown Kennebunk. We start cycling the historic Bridal Path as it follows the Mousam River to the sea. Once back on the roads, it’s time to saunter along Kennebunk’s many beaches. Take your time, watch the surfers, enjoy the waves, get off your bike, and put your feet in the sand – so luxurious.

Pass back to the “other side of the bridge” and take your time through Kennebunkport’s Dock Square. From Dock Square, we cycle along Ocean Avenue, pausing to see St Ann’s Church and Walker’s Point.

Our ride continues to Cape Porpoise, a quaint lobstering village of Cape Porpoise, and you’ll see the views that make people fall in love with Maine – a quiet cove, beautiful homes, a safe harbor full of working lobster boats, and the magical islands of Cape Porpoise Harbor and the Goat Island Lighthouse.

After enjoying lunch overlooking the harbor, we continue cycling. Be prepared to have your cycling socks knocked off as we ride past some of Kennebunk’s stateliest homes, including the “Wedding Cake House” on our way back to Kennebunk and after our trip.

Views were amazing. Guides were friendly and personable. Lobster roll was delicious. I upgraded to the ebike (first time riding one) and 10/10 recommend it. I wasn’t looking for a workout. Just wanted to see the sights and enjoy myself. Portland was my favorite stop from a New England cruise.

Five Stars to Rick (our guide) and the folks at Summer Feet Cycling. The ride was perfectly tailored to our group of nine middle aged individuals. The sights were terrific and the lobster role for lunch was the best I have ever eaten. Thanks for making our time in Maine a memorable experience.

Our Summer Feet cycle along the Maine coast was glorious. In early September, we had perfect weather. We cycled along breathtaking views. Then we caught our breath in quaint Maine towns and fishing villages. Each evening our luggage was waiting for us at a charming inn, where we were served breakfast before heading out the next morning. The Summer Feet staff were friendly and efficient. We will hope to plan another Summer Feet trip soon! Pedal The Coast
